DIY Denim Lace-up Corset Belt

03.22.17

Hey, Loves! Time for another fashion DIY. As mentioned in my last blog post, I recently collaborated with the talented Sorry Girls on Youtube. For my part of the collaboration we decided to up-cycle old jeans into a current Spring trends that we love. If you know me by now, you know I like to try something different. Cutting and gluing something isn't enough for my DIY hands. I like to go beyond what people are used to seeing or expect.  Most Youtube people are never ready for this kind of stuff. Different is too scary for many people. They either complain about seeing a DIY already and if it's not been done, they complain about it being strange.  I'm just happy I have my blog. I feel like the real life seekers (the non-Basic people) are on here looking for inspirations and to think beyond their comfort zone. I've seen this trend around on the Jenner sisters and trendy shops but not a DIY version. I hope you'll enjoy making this and especially wearing them!   Materials: Denim or a pair of jeans Fabric glue Eyelets (gromets) String for lacing the belt corset Step 1: Cut the leg section of your jeans into..... DIY Hanging Ring Art | Home Decor

03.21.17

Hey Loves! Spring is here and I am so excited! Spring is my favorite season so let's welcome it with some new home decor, shall we? Recently in youtube land, I did a collaboration with my friends Kelsey and Becky from The Sorry Girls. We did some denim trend DIY projects on my channel (HERE). Over on their channel, we made some cute hanging ring art. Today, I'm going to share with you what I made. This year I have been taking the minimalistic route and just simplifying everything I have. Moving for the 3rd time here in SoCal opened up my eyes to how many things I don't need. Scandinavians are known for minimal designs and decor. I love LOVE their aesthetics. I am in the mist of redecorating my home office so my inspiration comes from what I would actually decorate in my office and not get tired of looking at. I also searched Pinterest to make sure this design has not been done. I can't wait to welcome this new design into the Pinterest world. You can re-pin this as well! Materials: Agate slab with a hole in the center (You can also use anything you like..... Read More

10 Travel Outfits 1 Carry-On Luggage

03.07.17

I have a tendency to over pack more than I need and yet I still feel incomplete. After taking the time to organize my outfits between - what I like to wear walking around town in Thailand to how can I turn the same pieces into something more polished for a day in Tokyo. Planning and prepping definitely help me pack less and maximize what I have. Sure you can pack 10 tops and 10 dresses with you but if you don’t have outfit ideas in mind, you’re just lugging around unnecessary weight. In today's post you're going to learn how you can play around with just a few pieces of clothing and still make them look different. We’re going to style around 4 tops, 3 bottoms, 3 jackets, 2 pair of shoes and 2 handbags.   Pairing 1: Starting with my favorite everyday look is the relaxed style trench jacket over a simple black and white combo pairing. The jacket is light for Spring but also roomy enough for any extra necessary layering on chilly days. I made sure to pack a printed top to break up from too solid colors. This top is perfect as a under layer or alone. A..... Read More

DIY Copper Ladder Accessory Stand

03.03.17

Here's another lovely Copper DIY. It's a great way to add more copper accents into your space and it's also super practical to hang your accessory! Materials: 2 x 10 foot Copper Pipe Epoxy or metal glue 6 T-findings (You can add as many as you like) 4 Copper End Caps   Step 1: Measure out and Cut 4 sets of pipe sections  (that's 8 all together). These are the measurements I used but you can customize yours: 2 x 20 inch sections 6 x 15 inch Pipe sections Step 2: Connect the pipe sections to the T finding. Use epoxy or metal glue. This will keep it in place and sturdy. Step 3: Glue on all 4 ends with the copper caps. Let this set overnight and then you can clean your copper ladder with acetone (nail polish remover). That should remove those weird prints on your copper from the hardware store. To prevent the copper from tarnishing, you can use solvent cleaner like xylene or denatured alcohol. Enjoy this DIY! xo, Ann   Read More

DIY Copper Plant Stand | Home Decor

03.01.17

I've been in Love with Copper this year. I came across Pure Sweet Joy's Blog and tested out her version. After some trial and error, making some adjustments to size, I was amazed how beautiful a plant stand can look. Normally plant stands are accent pieces that you would not take too much notice in.  The copper shines so well against the white pot and the extra lift in height just works beautifully together.  I promise after you make your first, the next 2 will feel like a breeze. Materials: 1o Foot 1/2 inch Copper Rod (I got mine from Home Depot) A 1-1/8 inch Tube cutter 8 - 1/2 inch Copper T-fittings 8 - 1/2 inch Copper caps Epoxy Glue   Step 1: Measure out all your Copper Pieces and cut them into these measurements: *The measurements can be adjusted according to your pot size.  My measurements are just for reference but you can customize yours. Inner Center Base: 4 x 2 inch Pipe sections Outer Center Base: 4 x 2.5 inch Pipe sections Top extensions: 4 x 3 inch Pipe sections Bottom feet: 4 x 6 inch Pipe sections Step 2: You will need to connect the first 4 inner center pipes to 4 T..... Goodbye Gold, Hello Copper

02.15.17

Last week I was in Target. Every time I'm there I like to stop by the home furniture section to see kind of displays they have up. Target always know what's up. When I saw they had a right shelf dedicated to Gold accent decor pieces and the left shelf had Copper, it became clear that gold is no longer relevant to me.  Gold had it's moment for the last 2 years and this year it's time for copper to go all out in full force.  I had my gold moment and if you're still enjoying your, there is nothing wrong with it! It's all a matter of opinion and style. My style is transforming constantly and I'm going through my copper phase. Copper has a very distinct and mystery to it. It stands out without taking away attention from everything else in the room.  It looks effortless and less gaudy when you have more than 1 statement pieces in one room. It's shiny, cold but also warms up a room. This coffee table set the the perfect androgynous statement piece for a couple living together. Sick Day Tea + Soup Recipes

02.05.17

It's flu season and everyone is getting sick! I just recently recovered from 3 weeks of torture in bed, then the hospital, and then in bed again.  It was definitely not fun but I'm glad I'm feeling better and more like my happy self again. I made a video of my sick day routine (HERE) to help you just feel more relaxed if you're going through the same thing. Below I'm also going to list my favorite tea and soup recipe.   Citrus Ginger Tea Recipe Lemon is loaded with vitamin C/B6/A/E, and has detoxifying elements and many other nourishing elements. Ginger aids with many stomach problems like indigestion and nausea. Honey is a great natural sweetener with anti-inflamatory and anti-bacterial properties and is also soothing for sore throats. I like to make myself a jar of this amazing concoction. By doing so, you can easily make yourself a few cups of this relaxing tea. For 3-6 servings: Start by pouring 4 tablespoons of honey into a jar. Chop up a half or whole (depending what you like) of a lemon into bit size pieces. Then chop up about a thumb size piece of ginger into slices.  Add the lemon and ginger into the..... Read More

01.12.17

In my last post I have shared with you all something very exciting happening in my life. If you missed that post, well... I just came out with some lash designs in collaboration with Eylure! In celebration and to compliment the launch I wanted to share with you this False Lash 101 Guide. It's everything you need to know. These are all the tips and tricks I picked up along the years of wearing false lashes. I absolutely love wearing them for special occasions, photos, videos or just to get an extra pop to my look.
