What to Wear to a Beach Wedding:

MAXI-DRESS-1

My Pick: Maxi Dress

Beach weddings are a lot more laid-back so comfort and style is key. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to wear something fun, flowy (remember, you might be walking on sand all day) so avoid wearing high heels. Maxi dresses are perfect for the seaside venues because the fabric is light and you can be extra creative with the the colors and print. Maxi dresses can be simple, but that doesn’t mean you can’t accessorize! If you take a look at this outfit, you’ll see that I added in a necklace and bracelet for a more feminine and personal touch.

What to Wear to a Contemporary Wedding

JUMPSUIT-1

My Pick: Edgy Jumpsuit

If you’re not into ladylike dresses, then this is for you! Jumpsuits come in many cuts, prints and styles. They are extremely popular. Although some people may feel this is too showy in the plunging neckline – it’s okay!  You don’t have to settle for the same style! I love this particular cut as it’s sophisticated with an edge.  However, I would not wear this to just any wedding. Sexy cuts or an edgy outfit is perfect for those untraditional kind of weddings where people are more open to style. If you know that the Bride & Groom are into fashion and they’re the kind of people who don’t give a ….. then I would say to have fun girl!

What to Wear to an Outdoor Wedding

FLORAL-DRESS-1

My Pick: Off-The-Shoulder Dress

Nothing beats a cute printed dress. I’m not much of a print person when it comes to clothing but when I do come across a cute design, it’s a win!  This floral dress in particular is perfect for a garden themed wedding. The colorful flower design gives off a whimsical feel and the big prints is a great way to camouflage any areas you’re shy about. This dress embodies femininity and elegance in such a graceful way.

What to Wear to a Wedding Ceremony

BLUE-SKIRT-1

My Pick: Two Piece

Typically for wedding ceremonies, you can play it up so I decided to go for a two piece set. Depending on the time for a daytime ceremony, I went for two contrasting colors with a statement necklace. The versatility of this ensemble is formal, but not too formal and playful, but still follows the proper wedding dress code etiquette.  What I really like about a two piece is that you can were one top for the first part of the event and then get a little spicy by switching up to a different top for the next part of the event.  It’s a great way to keep things looking fresh!

What to Wear to a Traditional Wedding

RED-DRESS-1

My Pick: A Red Dress

Unlike the color white, red can get a bit tricky so here’s my personal break-down.

  • If you’re attending a winter wedding, some brides will have an outfit change and choose the color red so you may want to avoid wearing this color
  • In certain cultures, such as Chinese, red symbolizes good luck.  Often times the color is encouraged, while black is a big no-no.

If the dress code is confusing to you then I encourage you to not risk anything. It’s better to play it safe (and respect the bride) than to be sorry. However, is this color completely off-limits? Not necessarily. This particular dress has a great asymmetrical cut and did I mention that it’s great choice for evening wear? I get to eat as much as I want without being self-conscious about my bloating…(Tell me I’m not alone here)

Hope you love these outfits and my take on rules you should stick to versus ones you can avoid. The ultimate goal is to find something that makes you feel good, look good, and everything in between.

Love,

Ann

Hi Ann! I loved your video on what to wear to a wedding, and I’m graduating soon, so I was wondering if maybe you could do a video on what to wear under the graduation gown? Thanks!
