Healthy No Bake Energy Bites Recipe

ENERGY-BITES-2

Hey Lovelies!!! I have been on a row with eating healthy.  It hasn’t been easy and I often feel super snacker-ish in the evening.  I have been working out like a good girl and I’m pretty proud of myself.  2-3 Times a week I would workout with weights therefore my body craves for protein.  To reach my target amount of protein I started looking up new workout recipes.  I came across many Energy bites recipes and thought how nice would it be to make my variation.  I wanted something that will hit my chocolate cravings and something that will give me energy to workout.  Therefore I present to you… my version of this yummy NO BAKE Energy Bites!!!

Materials (Everything can be substituted to your liking)

1 Cup of Oats

2 Scoops of Protein Powder (These are already sweetened therefore I choose not to use any other extra sweetener)

1 Cup of Coconut Flakes (I use this mainly for the texture)

1-2 Tablespoons of Raw Cacao (full of antioxidant)

1/2 Cup of Almond Butter

(Optional) 2-3 Tablespoons of Hemp Seeds (for extra protein and minerals)

(Optional) Maca Powder (promotes a healthy mind and mood)

Chocolate Almond Milk (yum!)

Instructions

1.) Mix together the oats, the protein powder, the coconut flakes, the raw cacao, and the almond butter. I used Pea-Protein for the protein powder, which adds a great nutty flavor and some sweetness to these energy bites. The raw cacao has a rich, dark chocolate flavor and puts in a lot of anti-oxidants and nutrients. I also added in hemp seeds, but it’s not required for this recipe. You can also optionally add in some maca powder for more energy.

2.) Press down on the mixture with a spoon or make a test ball and see if it sticks together. If the concoction is too dry, try adding chocolate almond milk in increments of 1-2 tablespoons. It it’s too wet, then add in some more oats. Once the blend is ready, cover the bowl with seran wrap and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.

3.) After your mixture has chilled, take it out of the fridge and start making your energy bites! These balls can be any size you want. I usually scoop about a spoon and a half into my palm and roll it around until it’s spherical-shaped. These delicious snacks can be stored in your fridge for up to a week. Enjoy!
