Hey guys! I’ve been so busy crafting and creating these past few weeks that I really needed a retail therapy break. But it’s all for research, I promise, haha! All these items are amazing, and thank goodness it’s the holidays so I can spread the cheer of these fun little products as far as possible.
So let’s get started!
The first beauty product I want to recommend is the I Smell Great line of scents. With four different scents and five different products, I Smell Great is meant for layering and experimentation. All the scents are made to compliment one another and at the same time create new scents, and after playing around with various scent combos I mixed Wild Honey perfume with Candy Crush body mist to create an almost Sweet Tea scent, which I really, really love! I Smell Great has great products available at their online store, and best of all you can order a sampler of the scents to see which ones are your favorite and try playing around to create new ones. Let me know below if you create any new and interesting scent combinations!
Next, I bought the Lorac Unzipped palette. Lorac has great colors that are always flattering, and work for a day-to-night look. The Unzipped palette is a nude eyeshadow palette with a range from very pale creams to deep browns. With their warm tones in pink and reddish-brown tones, I love to use all these colors on a daily basis. As a gift you can’t go wrong, as I find that these colors are almost universally flattering. Reasonably priced, I think of lot of you can relate to this particular palette! Best of all, Lorac can be found in retail stores nation-wide (check their website for specifics) or at their online store.
I bought both these next two items for myself, because I love them SO much. But they also would make great gifts because they’re classic, pretty and won’t break the bank! These studded Firefly Earrings work seamlessly for both causal daywear or a night out, and I love how the sparkling facets catch the light. I also found the perfect clutch! Most clutches seem so fancy, but this is a great everyday leather clutch that’s also elegant enough for a nighttime event too. My favorite feature on the Downing Embossed Clutch is the front pocket with magnetic closure. I know this will be my go-to item for 2015!
Both are from J. Crew, and if you hurry over to their site they are having a winter sale with items 30-40% off right now. Oh, and they are offering free shipping on all orders through the weekend too!
My last fashion item today is a great chunky circular grey scarf from Zara. I love the neutral color and the large knit, while easy to wear it’s also a laid-back statement piece! It’s the perfect gift, and since it’s a circle you know it won’t fall off in the upcoming winter weather. I found mine in-store, and can’t find online, so check your local store or try this similar chunky scarf in slightly brighter colors.
Teas and Food
You know me, so you know I love LOVE LOVE teas! It’s probably because I like drinking tea with other people, sitting around trying new flavors while catching up around a nice warm cup. While I was in NYC, I ran across David’s Tea store and had to try the Birthday Cake flavor. Doesn’t that just sound so good? Fortunately for me, David’s Tea has an online store, and their other teas are just as delicious. I ordered two Christmas themed sampler packs, the adorably named 12 Teas of Christmas and The Night Before Christmas. They smell so good when you open them, you’ll want to make a cup right away!
Next I have a Japanese DYI-sushi kit for you guys. Ok, ok this sushi-making kit isn’t really food, it’s candy! I bought this to make with Vincent, and although it’s trickery than the online videos make it seem, it was a ton of fun. It’s the perfect gift for older kids, or anyone who loves candy.
Since I love tea, that means I need lots of mugs. Ok, maybe I don’t need tons of mugs, but I love collecting them all the same, and I know lots of other people feel the same! I love the mugs at Anthropologie, and I fell in love with two I found in-store. But check out their selection, I know you’ll find one perfect for everyone.
I found these measuring cups at Anthropologie. Aren’t they cute? These Whale- Tale Measuring cups would be perfect as a gift for the baker on your list or as an addition to a giftset. I love to use them as serving dishes too, as they’re perfect for sauces, berries, garnishes or really anything small.
Candles are a great gift, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love candles. If you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxing subtle scent I recommend these candles from Anthropologie. With their beautiful jars and exotic ingredients, these Voluspa Cut Glass Jar candles are a light scent perfect for bedrooms or anywhere you don’t want a strong, overpowering scent. Personally, I love the Santiago Huckleberry and the Mokara White Lily, but there are many other great blends in this line.
I know some of you are probably wondering “Wait, what about Harley!?” but I going to do a separate post totally focused on him later, so look forward to that post coming soon!
That’s all for today, and now I’m exhausted after all that shopping. Which means I think I’ll go make myself a cup of tea. Let me know which of these products you’ve tried, which you want, and which you’d give as a gift!
*I Smell Great did send me a sample package to try out a few of their scents, but all other products were bought by myself.
