Summer Seashell Candles

Hi everyone, summer is here!  If you are like me, you are looking forward to the warm sand, bright sun, and cool water.  Summer is a time for outdoor FUN and entertainment, including cookouts and pool parties.  For this DIY, I will show you how to make seashell candles, which can be used to add that touch of summer to your events, or you can simply use it as party favors or gifts.

Seashells -make sure it is not broken and there are no holes

Candle wicks – trimmed to fit the depth of your shells

Candle wax – you can get different colors

Glass measuring cup  – I use Pyrex

Glue – super glue or hot glue

1) With the glue, dab a drop on the bottom of the wick base and secure wick to each shell.

2) Microwave wax on high for approximately 2 minutes or until completely melted.

3) Carefully pour the candle wax into each shell until it is full.  To balance a shell, use another shell as a wedge to keep it steady.

4) Let wax cool completely, about an hour, before use.

Place shells in a clear glass bowls with sand to create a serene beach theme or scattered on a shallow color dish (shape/color of your choice) filled with small pebbles/sand.

Thanks for trying my DIY.  Good luck!  Until next time, be inspired and be creative.
