Splash in Red

Red has never been a favorite of mine.  I used to think the color makes me look old and brings out the blemishes on my face.  I never thought the color red complimented my mood or state of mind at the time.  Color is definitely a psychology and a reflection of our mood and personality.  Last week, I met up with a employee from Pantone and asked him how Pantone comes up with the color of the year.  He said that they have people traveling the world to constantly researching people’s mood and psychology.  When the economy is down, people tend select vibrant and bright colors.  When we’re in a good place, than the popular colors are neutral toned.

Since last fall, I warmed up to the shades of red.  It became inviting, sensual, romantic, passionate, and most of all warm ( lived in cold MA at the time).  Now I find poppy red to brighten up my skin and appear youthful and happy.  What can I say, I became of lover of red, the color of passion.

  1. I always turn to red when i’m feeling low or when the weather is gloomy. It is psychological. if you wear a neutral colour on a gloomy day, it will only make things worse. If you wear a bold colour, it will automatically put a smile on your face and make it a bit easier to deal with the current situation.

  2. Oh hun, you do not look old at ALL! I truly love red on you and I think it brings out the brown in your hair! You should definitely add a splash of it more often.
I am always wearing all black so I can relate to not liking certain colors on me…like pink. ew haha.
